Started with the queso and chips...chips are great all by themselves, the queso just makes them better. The pizza (Classic Rock) was pretty good, the crust was a little oily to me (I think they put olive oil on it) The sundae was yummy, lots of chocolate and carmel sauce. Jessica, our waitress, did a great job. Love her!

Shoutout to Joe! Thanks for being great to us ! Very cool outdoor seating , view of the mountains in the distance, well priced & great drinks! My Moscow mule was only $9 and that's was made with Grey Goose! Whaaaaat? Lol Nice cool place to come for lunch. Lunch menus very well priced !

We had a large party go here for dinner after work. Most of us are from out of town and this was suggested by a co-worker. I really liked the decor - all rock related with music videos playing. It had a cool vibe about it. I also got a free app - the Mozz break for checkign in on Yelp. Thanks Yelp! The bread was def worth it! The waiter was nice but he did say that he was one of the only ones in the section so we may not see him for awhile. I would suggest he not say that because it only annoyed us that we knew we'd have to wait sometimes - which we did unfortunately have to wait for drinks, etc. When around though, he was good and quick. I just think they need more servers. The food was good. I had the steak salad. A tad overcooked but great flavor. My co-worker had a pizza. It looked great but I didn't like the taste too much, maybe a personal preference. Either way, we had a good time here and I would suggest others to try it - especialy for happy hour which I heard was good (but we didn't drink so I can't confirm). I don't think I'd go back if I was in town but I wouldn't deter others from going.

Me and my boyfriend appreciate the PIZZA here but we decided to get something different and we got not eleven dollars worth of calamari very DISSAPPOINTED we went back so they could give us more food or something they just said sorry. I wish my boyfriend would have at least gotten his large lemonade instead of the small ROCK pizza u lost two customers

Eh? It's ok. We went for a lunch at 11am (17 of us) - it took an hour and a half. The service was slow, but very sweet. Unfortunately when you're only allotted an hour of time that doesn't do much to make up for it. Food was decent, but more than one person at our table said their burger was cold :(

  • Paul M.

Great pizzas, plenty of unique combinations between red and white pizzas. The bang a gong, thunderstruck , and the crazy train are the best pizzas I've had there. Can't go wrong with any of them and remember to add spicy sausage! Now on to the cons, inside decor is kitschy as hell with awful classic rock on repeat blaring in your ears. And their house beers are really uninteresting. Other than that never had a problem getting a seat in the bar or the check at the end! But definitely prefer to get it to go.

We went to The Rock because my daughter lives nearby and wanted to try it. We had a great server - Addison - who made us feel very welcomed and was very efficient. The menu is huge but she never rushed us and made some good suggestions. We had the family sized Caeser salad that came with really good "pizza dough" rolls. There were 2 orders of French Onion soup for 4 of us. We also got a large pepperoni and green pepper pizza. It could have had more green peppers but it was so good! My husband got a burger and said it was good too - the guacamole and bacon on it looked yummy. The menu has everything from nachos to a pulled pork sandwich to steaks and of course pizza and it all looked good. The service was perfect. The decor keeps you interested and the music was awesome. I definitely recommend The Rock.

We had lunch here a few weeks ago in which they messed up our order. However, the manager comped us on my meal to make up for it and we really didn't complain. I would give the service five stars based on that, but the food was your typically chain restaurant type food. We will go there again as the mess up was an honest mistake and management made it right, so stop on by sometime.

For God sakes man there were 12 if us! Our server Evan came out and decided to try to memorize all of our orders. As the host for this get together I specifically asked him why he wouldn't write it down? Is the rock the place to be a hero? Who was he trying to impress? Three of our party received their food one half hour later. The bummer here was that we are on our lunch break and had to get back to the office. Because our server had to be a hero that didn't happen. But the music was good, hence the one star.

It's ok, the food is average the staff is great.

  • John N.

Very average. Left a box for take home on the table. Walked out and turned around to get it and it was already gone. They were actually faster at cleaning the table then getting the food to us.

I was really torn about this place. The food was good but the service was poor. I used the free app coupon from Yelp, and the manager took over the waitress' responsibilities. Overall this place is more bar than restaurant. Shockingly there was no smell or sight of wood burning ovens. I seriously doubt I will return.

Price is fair, portions are large and food is great. Staff is friendly and courteous. Only complaint is that my wife wants a T shirt and they're a little too pricey at $25 for a Haynes shirt, you would figure it's the best advertising there is. Still a must stop!

The food was really good!! We got the Garlic Moz bread it was a good cheesey appetizer. We then got the Bang a Gong pizza, it had a subtle spicy kick but wasn't too hot! Our server was Dana, she was really nice and really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable . She stopped to talk to us about more than just our orders, she was really awesome and convinced us to make this a regular date night spot!!

  • Lary R.

Over priced and small portions with very little servings of the main ingredient. We ordered the chicken quesadilla which had very, very little chicken and VERY little ingredients altogether at $9. And the flavor was not there. The Bang a Gong pizza tasted delicious but had VERY little chicken and pineapple and cost $14! The service was not bad but i had to ask twice for a refill of water.

Had a great dinner tonight at The Rock! Founders Pie is always the winner for us when we come, but this time we changed it up a bit. Grace recommended the Rita Bucket and the sweet chili boneless wings - and both were top notch!!!

This is the 3rd time we have been to the Rock and have been pleased each time. My daughter choose this pace for her birthday because she likes the dough they give kids to play with while waiting for their meal. I have gotten pizza and burgers on different visits; both were good quality. The burger was pretty standard for this level of restaurant; but I thought the pizza was above average. I also really enjoyed the garlic cheese bread that we got as an appetizer. The only downside is that service can be a bit slow. We will most likely be back in the future.

Every star EARNED!! Every single one!! Amazing pizza, Top of the line Drinks, and Exceptional service!! This was our first visit and definitely won't be the last! The whole family really enjoyed our time here and the husband was already talking about coming back without the kiddos for the happy hour specials! The sandpail drinks are AWESOME!!!! Made all of our friends in California jealous when we posted a picture of them with rockstars to boot! Found a diamond in the rough- WE LOVED IT!! Try the white pizza! It had spinach, garlic, mushrooms, and we added the grilled chicken!! Best night out and favorite dinner spot on vacation!

  • Camilo S.

The bucket was ok, though considering the price it was either not strong enough or too small. The waiters took a rather long time, seemed like they were trying to encourage us to buy more drinks. The pizza was good, though for the price it was either too small or not large enough.

  • Marco K.

Food was decent. The service was pretty poor. Sat for quite a long time without anyone coming by to offer refills, despite 3-4 servers walking by. Also, do they not teach f.i.f.o. anymore? Our plates piled up...when the server finally did come around she never cleared a plate.

A neat little concept for a restaurant. The Rock is a pizza and wing place located prominently off of C 470 in the heart of Highlands Ranch. Once you step in, the decor is very Rock n Roll with a modern but dingy 80's look with some very metallic features. Good conversation pieces over food. The servers are very friendly and vibrant and the place is quite spacious. Great for groups. We ordered a veggie pizza and a sausage pizza with riccotta cheese, which is the Founder's pizza. I definitely liked the Founder's pizza but the pizza was a little cold. Also had some wings which were okay. I think if you like to party in Highlands Ranch, than I imagine the Rock is your place. I think the food could have been a little bit fresher but its a nice place to meet up with friends and remember the old days of rock n roll.

Great place! Fun atmosphere, fantastic food and service :). Hubster and I got two small pizzas, the Bad to the Bone white pizza and the Founders pie. Both were yummy but my fave was the founders. Great tasting sauce and the crust was just the right amount of chewy and crunchy. Garlic bread was also great and Free as a Yelp deal upon check in. Our service was stellar, with Nick. He was super helpful amd attentive. We'll be back!

Service is terrible, I went in to grab a pizza and a beer before a movie. Waited 10 minutes at the bar before the bartender even acknowledged I was there. After ordering I drank my beer and waited 20 min for my pizza, it never showed up, I also never talked to the bartender again. Stay away from this place.

We have been here numerous times and the service is always slow.. Today however, the amount of time we spent waiting for our server Addison was far from pleasant. With three kids we weren't looking to spend all day here. Finally after getting the kids food we ordered ours to go so hopefully we could leave quicker.. 2 and a half hours of always waiting for something I HAD TO GO TO THE BAR MYSELF AND ORDER A DRINK. After two other tables got their food before us we went and found our server with our card to pay the bill.. We were told the manager was going to come to talk to us. Instead, they just comped the to go food and the manager never came out. If your looking for a quick lunch experience THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO BE.

I just felt compelled to update my review. After having several good experiences I have now been disappointed the past 3 times over the course of 18 months or so. My main complaint is a complete drop off of service and an increase in prices. The food is still consistently good, but now it is really over priced for what it is and the friendly service (in the bar anyways) is gone. Sadly I doubt I will try it again.

We were there in Saturday May 24th. I am very torn on how many stars to give you all. The pizza was outstanding!!!!! The service was OK and the Mac and cheese was very disappointing! We had a California dreaming pizza and everything about it was great. Our server was Jenny B she was OK but not terribly efficient letting drinks sit empty for a long time and forgetting silverware. But the Mac and cheese was just sad. It was soooooo dry it is supposed to have 4 cheeses and it had no flavor how can 4 cheeses and bacon have no flavor. All it tasted like was bread crumbs. There was no creaminess at all . So 3 stars is the most I can give.

Took my customer out for lunch today to this new place and they had great food options. They have really good wraps, pizzas and salads. Overall, we got great service and very good quality food. Thanks!

My husband and I have been here at least a dozen times with generally good results. Yesterday was a whole other story. We came here for lunch with our two girls before heading to a movie. We gave ourselves an hour and 15 minutes for lunch "just in case" service was slow. We ended up late for the movie - which is all of a 1 minute drive away due to the incredibly slow service we received. First the good....we were seated promptly and the girls enjoyed their kid's meals. Now the bad..... 1 - After seating us, the hostess advised us that our waitress would be with us in a minute. 10 minutes later, the hostess came back to take our drink order. 10 more minutes later, we still had not been acknowledged by our waitress nor had our order taken. That's 20 minutes and counting.....(Normally I would have left but with a movie on our agenda and less than an hour to get lunch in, I figured we were better off staying put than starting over somewhere else. Bad call on my part. After another 10 minutes or so of waiting, our server finally came to our table with the excuse of "sorry for the wait but I just got that huge table." Yes, you do have a huge table, most of whom are serving themselves from the buffet.....but LORD ALMIGHTY is it too much to ask for you to notice you have a table with young children in your area?! 2 - 20 minutes later, our food arrives. The girls ordered a cheese pizza and a hamburger from the kid's menu. The hamburger was "as good as what we get at school" and the pizza was "much better than what we get at school." Both kiddos were happy. Our pizza, the Iron Man, was not hot and, to me, the steak tasted a bit "off." I wasn't impressed at all. Most certainly would never order again. 3 - After at least another 10 minutes wait after finishing our meal, during which time we waited for our check.....our server finally came with our bill....we just handed her our credit card without looking at the bill so hopefully it was right. At this point I just didn't care. We were already late for the movie and I would have paid extra just to get out of there. Know for sure we will not be back during lunch service again. May come again for a drink in the bar but I think my days of eating here have come to a disappointing end. The two stars are because of location - close to the movie theater - and because the girls enjoyed their meal.

We've been here a handful of times and always found the wood fired pizza to be consistently good (and the themed pizzas are named after rock songs or phrases from songs). The service can be spotty - sometimes good, sometimes slow. We have found the bar service to be slightly better while there - had to remind the bartender about my single beer order after 10 minutes of an empty glass.. The beer is good and if you're a big fun cocktail drinker then you may enjoy the beach bucket drinks. I would say if you make the service consistent then the rating would be better.

I don't give out a lot of 5 Star reviews. I have given some and they have deserved it. But in this case this was the classic example of how a restaurant should respond when things don't quite go the way you expect it should... We arrive for lunch and we are seated promptly, we are offered drinks and we look over the menu. Between the time the order was placed and the food arrived it was 35 minutes. Now at lunch I expect the food to be quicker. This was one of those "it wasn't the servers fault at all she was fantastic. The cooks just seemed to not want to cook the meal. Maybe they were at lunch, hard to say until...the manager comes over. He explained that he ended up being about 3 times as busy as normal and everyone was running and moving but the kitchen. He spent 5 minutes talking about it, telling us what happen, letting us know he would figure out what happened in the kitchen so that it wouldn't happen again. And then he comped the meal. He left the drinks on the ticket so that we could tip the server and she deserved the tip. ATTENTION RESTAURANT MANAGERS AND OWNERS, if you screw up admit it and take care of it. We will love you for it and we will come back. Don't offer me a free dessert... Take care of the issue. Don't say to me "How can I make this better or How can I fix this" Just Fix It!!! There are lots of ways to fix a problem, you're a manager, you've had bad experiences at a restaurant and you can draw from that...

Met up with a girlfriend here before seeing a movie at the Highlands Ranch 24. It's pretty convenient for a pre-movie bite, and since neither one of us had been there before, we went with it. The service was fine. The beer was fine. The food was fine. Fine, Fine, Fine. Nothing was a standout and nothing was awful. I guess that's pretty much what you can look forward to when you hit up a chain in a shopping center. Between us we each tried a few beers (the red and the honey wheat) and both were ok. I ordered the fish sandwich and she had the wings. My fish was pretty dry, but was huge. Her wings looked good and she said they were tasty, but a little over-sauced. We would probably come back here, seeing as the other nearby options are pretty dismal. Could be a fun place to catch a game--they had a TON of TVs.

Love this place! Best pizza in Colorado. They have a huge dining area that makes you feel like a rock star. Which is fitting, since that's the theme. All the pizzas have a rock theme and name. Even if you're not into rock, these menu items will take you back. Waaaayyyyy back! Or if you're really young, simply remind you of some cool movies you once saw. Ask for the server's recommendations if you're unsure. I've never gone wrong doing that. Desserts are great, too. Highly recommend you give this place a try. It's my go-to pizza spot now.

I am going to start with the best part of this place. The service was amazing! The girl that waited on us was really attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, she also made some recommendations on favorite restaurant items. We were there on a football Sunday so the entire day was happy hour with drink and food specials. Our favorite food item was the Founder brick oven pizza. Super delicious and was recommended by our server. We had their wings, which are baked, and were not incredibly impressed, they were really dry and just not great as far as wings go. We also had the mozzarella bread, it was your typical cheese bread. I wish I could give this place more stars based on the service we received. We will definitely stop in for dinner and give it another try with some different menu items again just because the service was awesome and the environment was nice and relaxed. Oh, their happy hour prices are really great and they have them throughout the week. They also have a patio where you can sit outside.

Really! I love this place. I am a music junkie and Thani it self is a reason for me to come back. They took the stale and very bland decorations of Boston's and turned it into a graveyard of yumminess!!!! The service is great (ask for Britney... She can make kids or grandparents feel special), the food is phenomenal ( my wife does a mean order on the "meaty beaty big and bouncy" that only she can do with the god given rack that she has) and most people are awesome (the only ones that tend to have issues are the ones that have issues everywhere they go...We hate those people). Come here. Enjoy. Have some really good pizza and a good drink! See you there

Wrote a review here several weeks ago about surprisingly poor quality food. I received a response from someone stating that what I received did not sound right and the General Manager of the restaurant would follow up with me. Well that never happened. Who is Managing this business? Someone invested a lot of money to open these restaurants and this is how they are operated. I am not surprised. The corporate office has an idea about how they would like them to operate but it never makes it to the customer. Cool building though!

Food brought real fast. I should say our entrée was brought real fast, it actually showed up before our appetizer. I had the "can't get enough pasta". The flavor was good but the tomato sauce was like soup. Noodles were over cooked. My wife had a hamburger that was mediocre at best. We probably should have ordered the pizza. The American Pie apple crisp looked like it might be great. Only problem was the apples were under cooked. Won't be back.

We have eaten here numerous times and have always enjoyed their food. The staff is always courteous and friendly. Nick was especially attentive at our latest visit. He was right on top of it, keeping our drinks refreshed and making sure we were doing ok. He was also very patient with us when our 3 year old decided that he wanted the peanut butter and jelly pizza from the kids menu, instead of the pepperoni that Mom and Dad were having (then subsequently changed his mind again). They have made recent changes to their menu. We look forward to returning to the restaurant and trying new things.

Great food, great bar, great reverse happy hour. Customer service, just depends on your waiter. Love the fact they are open til at least midnight during the week.

I like the versatility of their menu! I enjoy being able to switch it up and try something new each time I go! They have great pizzas and surprisingly some really amazing pasta dishes. If you manage to leave room for dessert they are all incredibly good and gooey served on hot skillets.. I could go for a cookie sundae right now...

The atmosphere is cool here and the hostesses/greeters were very friendly. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She mentioned that it was happy hour:) We ordered a beer, garden salad and a large pizza. Both were good but nothing fantastic. My husband and I found the pizza pretty average.

Played cards here with a group one night for 3 1/2 hours, while having pizza and beer. Our server, Courtney, was amazing. She was very attentive to our needs the entire evening and made sure we never lacked for drinks. It was also a great place to play cards. The rock and roll music is good, and not too loud to carry on a conversation without having to yell. The micro-brews are good and the pizza was very good, although a little expensive for the size. We will definitely be back. It's nice to have a place that takes good care of you when you are taking up a table for a long time.

The food was OK - it was typical bar food - nothing spectacular. I did think it was pretty expensive. My husband asked our waitress what margaritas were on Happy Hour and she said that the House Margs were on Happy hour so he ordered one - and then another. At the end of our meal the manager came by and told us that those margs were not on Happy Hour prices and that that the menu can be confusing (like it was our fault - even though the waitress told us that they were on happy hour prices). He told us that those drinks would be marked down to happy hour prices. Then we get our bill - and the drinks were not marked down. This wasn't a big deal - but just kind of irritating - especially since he made it seem like we couldn't understand the menu.

I've been to another Rock location, we stopped in here for dinner before a movie. As far as chain pizza joints go, they have pretty good consistent food with decent creations on the menu. They have their own beers, and it runs the standard gambit of popular ales. Our server last night was Terrance, and he did a great job. I was very impressed with his friendly attitude and attention. The place is very gaudy inside, frankly it's somewhat uncomfortable for me to sit here too long. But the food and beer is good and it's a convenient spot before the movie theater.

The atmosphere is awesome - 4 stars! The food.....well.....I've tried this place three times to make sure it wasn't just me. I've had different pizza all three times. If I come back a fourth time, I will try something else like the pasta or burgers. I would really like to like this place since it is such a cool theme.

Very disappointed in today's visit. Got there and ordered food. Took over 35 minutes to get our food and the quality was not very good. I ordered the pizza and salad lunch combo and the pizza had barely any cheese on it.. plus the server was very slow and unorganized. She did not refill our drinks or ask how our food was. Plus $3 for a soda? Come on! Won't be back again.

I ordered the Crazy Little Thing on gluten free crust. On the menu, it said: A classic tomato sauce pizza piled high with white onions, green pepper, sliced mushrooms, crushed garlic and black olives. You'll love it! Well, I subbed out the mushrooms for pepperoni. Not only did I not love it, I don't understand where on my pizza did they think the onions, green pepper, and black olives were piles high? Not to mention, the pizza was devoid of any garlic. There were 10 small pieces of green pepper, about the same onions, 6 pieces of pepperoni, and 7 olives. Ridiculous. The only plus? The gluten free crust was passable.

Went there at 5:30ish on the day after Black Friday. :) Immediately got a table. Like others have said, the inside decor is interesting. It would be real cool if they could somehow incorporate some 'newer' rock in their 'theme' - ya know, 90s and 00s bands - perhaps in the bar area? - but it is what it is. Service: No complaints. Attentive. Initial serving of a slice is a nice touch. Food: Prices are somewhat expensive. $3.50 for a small side salad. $23 for a 16" loaded Pizza? Yikes! Anyway, the pizza is OK. I'm from Jersey and I've been to pizzarias in Italy, so my standards are high. The Pizza is better than any delivery place but not up to say a Protos. Kind of weird to place the pizza on a BIG tray as it's impossible for someone at the far side of a booth to actually get a slice. Micro-brew Beer: Great job! Some nice bite to the Jump'n Jack Black (yeah there's the classic rock meme coming in). Lots of 'micro breweries' have bland dark beers - this one is not. $4.50/pint. Other: Obviously a noisy place. Generally families, which is what you'd expect from a post-matinee, pre-evening movie crowd. Especially in Highlands Ranch. 3.5 star review all in all. Food price is a bit high for the quality. It's a decent place and we'll likely come back, but not urgently.

    (3)
  • Chris R.

Tried here a second time. I can say the pizza was definitely better as was the experience. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and I never had to wait for drink refills. And the microbrew was good. My only complaint that still stands is that the pizza does not reheat well at all. So don't expect to enjoy any pizza leftovers. I'd only get what I could eat fresh there and not have leftovers.

Instead of suffering in the 103 degree heat last weekend, my boyfriend and I decided that lunch & a movie would be the perfect way to beat the heat! Being a beer & pizza lover, along with being super close to the movie theater, we decided to see & taste what The Rock had to offer. Here goes: FOOD: Very good! We both ordered individualized pizzas [they offer a lunch special 7 days a week, featuring all you can eat salad OR an additional $2 off your pizza, we opted for the latter] with me ordering the "crazy little thing" [aka a supreme pizza!] while he ordered the "can't stop rockin" [pepperoni, pineapple & cheese!] and both were amazing. The supreme had a little less cheese and lacked a few spices but was pretty darn good. BEER: I always like places that make their own beer or offer unique micro brews and The Rock features their very own beer! We ordered the sampler and came to like their black lager and IPA the best! mmmmm! SERVICE: Meh. I've had better. We sat in the bar area, hoping to catch some game highlights and there was ONE person guarding the bar & taking orders while another random food runner delivered food. Although our server/bartender was nice & friendly, we didn't see her much. Only to order and pay. Weird. PRICES: Awesomely reasonable for this area of town. I always associate Highlands Ranch with being an upscale suburban community [right?!] and was surprised to find such low prices. Food + beer = under $20. WOW! ATMOSPHERE: As soon as we walked in we were greeted with skulls, rot iron fences, grunge band set ups and lots of flames. Very interesting vibe, black toilets, random grafitti cover the walls and fun music blasts from the speakers. It's like nothing else....well maybe Halloween! ha ;) Overall, I dig this place, and can def see myself returning for a bite and a brew!

Came in late one night because it was 10 pm and while most other restaurants were closed they stay open until midnight. The restaurant area was completely empty but there was bar trivia going on so the place wasn't completely dead. Our server was attentive (given that we were her only customers at the moment) and took our drink & appetizer order while giving us some time to look over the dinner options. We settled on the "Bat Outta Hell" pizza and shortly after we got our drinks and the Rock's Wings, which were served sizzling in a skillet similar to the way most places serve fajitas. The wings were awesome(ly hot) and exactly what we were wanting; the pan really crisps up the skin. Next came the pizza, which was served in a jelly roll pan, and the server did that weird thing where they server you the first slice (just in case you don't know how pizza works). The spiciness level of the pizza was probably a 4 out of 10, and was really good. The restaurant is also a microbrewery and I tried their beer sampler, which was just OK. They do have a lot of specialty drinks, some of which appear to be served in sand buckets, as well as a full selection of beers and whatnot. We'll definitely be back again for the wings!

Had the beer sampler and nothing was over the top good but was all pretty tasty. Mozzarella bread was very good with a crisp crust. Ordered a pizza that was very tasty. Nice crispy crust and not a lot of sauce which I like. Toppings were fresh and flavorful. Seems like a great place to hit up for some cocktails and dinner.

Our server Kelly was great, but my kids kept asking me why "hell" is written in the menu.

Went there for the first time and ordered something off the pizza menu, but it was actually some bread with a salad on top. My mistake I guess because the menu says it's bread with toppings....It took forever to arrive, which is lame because it's just a piece of bread, same as some restaurants server right off the bat. Maybe their other pizzas are ok, but they shouldn't list a bruschetta under pizza... Service was good and the manager didn't charge me for my beer. Maybe next time

All I can say is Meh..... Contrived interior straight out of a vegas casino or Theme park in Orlando, all flash ...no substance... pizza came out on a cheap [residential type] oven tray? Average taste at best, way overpriced, wings were o'k, service was good, but I knew the server prom a previous restaurant... kinda grossed out by the server at the next table 'injecting' a shot into a young female patrons mouth... cheesy 'syringe shot' deal they do... Won't be back for the plastic 'bucket and Spade' Fruity drinks either... 21 to 25 years old demographic... it will fly for a year and then flatline...........overpriced.

Mediocre at best. Food wasn't anything to write home about. Pizza was very greasy and not the best I've had. The beer on the other hand was great! Good brew selection to chose from and the staff was very friendly. I like the inside of the place as well. Kinda funky. Overall prbly won't go back, but served the need for beer and pizza on a Friday night.

Came here on a Saturday for a late lunch after spending the morning at Home Depot buying garden plants to replace those destroyed in a hail storm last week. As other reviewers have stated, the new ownership spared no expense turning this old Boston's restaurant into a retro 80's establishment - the front chandelier is made with old Fender Stratocasters, there's a skeleton playing guitar that bears a resemblance to a skinny Jerry Garcia, the backs of the booths are covered with the names of hundreds of classic rock songs, and there's a beat-up old pickup truck above the bar with a Bad Company logo on the side. These and other mementos of the long-gone days of real rock and roll brought a smile to my face, as did the piped in music, from the Beatles to the Doobies to Skynyrd. We ordered a chicken wing appetizer to share - great and spicy hot wings, not dripping with sauce and a bit crunchy. Really tasty. My wife got the Red Sangria and said it was super, I got a house margarita and was very pleased and a bit surprised by the addition of Rose's Lime Juice - a nice quenching treat on a very hot day. My wife and son got a specialty pizza with prosciutto, provolone, pepperoni, onions and peppers and said it was very good. I got the Rock Grinder combo - ham, pepperoni, a ton of pepperjack cheese, thinly-sliced red onions and green and red bell peppers, drizzled in a homemade sauce - an excellent sandwich! The fries were okay, but not particularly memorable. I give this place a 5 for decor and atmosphere - everywhere you look there's something to catch your eye, like a giant mural of the cover of Pink Floyd's Animals album with Jimi Hendrix hidden in the corner, the occasional gargoyle glaring down from above, and cool brickwork that has been made to look as if it is about to collapse. I give the food a 3 - very tasty, everyday workingman's lunch, perhaps a bit above average pizza, but nothing truly awesome or memorable. We'll head back here again soon and give it another try - definitely worth a second visit.

Used to consider this the best pizza around but not anymore. Slow service, high prices for cold pizza with minimal toppings and stale crust. What a major negative change. Is there new ownership?

This place is way too cool for Highlands Ranch. I love it! The Rock just opened in the old Boston's location. It is fabulous! It is a Rock-Themed bar with an awesome patio, really detailed decor and even an old GMC truck on top of the bar. Classic rock is played throughout the restaurant and bar. Band names like Styx & Journey are spray painted on the walls. Even the fabric of the booths has song titles like Wayward Son. Love it. The layout here is awesome! The place is split into two halves, the restaurant area and the bar area. You can get food in the bar area, and you can completely avoid the screaming children of the restaurant area, yay! I'm sure if the weather stays nice, we will be spending weekend afternoons on the patio. This place has already been discovered by the bikers, so it can get a little packed out there, just a heads up. Happy hour here is a must. They have the most fun cocktail list I have ever seen. You can get jello shots in syringes, booze in buckets and even a "lava lamp" drink with floating chunks of jello and a light up glass (that you get to keep). Fantastic! The food is pretty fun as well. It is really, really hard to make up your mind because everything sounds so good. The brown sugar bread, garlic bread, mini-calzones and mac'n'cheese are all pretty awesome. Love this place. Will most definitely be back!

We were in the area to see a movie and stopped in after for a bite. I had read some of my fellow Yelpers reviews and thought it might be our kind of place. The decor is awesome! They really spared no expense to realize the 80's rock theme on display here. The music was great, the dark "Hellfire" atmosphere really reminded me of the glorious days of my youth. Right down to the leather and studded booths and rock inspired branding. However, thats where the favorable portion of this review ends. The menu is very limited when it comes to specialty pizza's. I'm not saying that they didn't have many choices for specialty pies, they just didn't have combinations that many of us pizza traditionalists want to see. For instance, we just wanted your basic house combination pie with some veggies and some meat. We had to order the veggie pizza and add the meat toppings. At $2.25 a topping, that can add up pretty fast! We also ordered some of their homemade ripple chips. These turned out to be the highlight of the meal. I had one of their home brews as well. A honey wheat that wasn't bad at all. When the pizza came (16") it was placed on a tray at the end of the table. Not on the table, just off the end. This made it real hard to get your next slice as you had to slide over to the end of the booth with your plate to dish it up. Not sure why they do this, the tray is about 5 times the size of the pizza, and the tables (booth in this case) are large enough to accomadate the traditional pizza rack. The pizza was very bland to say the least. Very little sauce, and what sauce there was was bascally just crushed tomatos from a can. The toppings were sparce and the cheese was not what you would expect from fresh mozzarella, it melted more like a white version of velveeta or something, not very appetizing to say the least. The crust was just ordinary as well. If the folks at The Rock would have spent as much money developing their recipies as they did on the decor, this place might be what I think they were aiming for. Unfortunately, they really missed the mark with the food. Its a shame too, I really wanted to like this place. -MK

I had never even heard of this place but we were going to a movie and decided to try it. It is really good....everything we had was really tasty, Our server, Nic, reco'd several items and he was spot on. We decided not to have a pizza instead we chose a burger - the Cajun Bacon Blue - it was so good. Cooked exactly med rare as I asked. Nic also reco'd a drink called the lava light....delish. I hope the mgmt reads these reviews and gives Nic a raise....he is an exceptional server. He was attentive but not overbearing....we would def go back and make sure we sit in his section and maybe try one of their famous pizzas.

The Rock is a wood fired pizza joint with a fabulous bar in the old Boston's location in Highlands Ranch. Very impressed by the spare no expense makeover and conversion to an 80's rock & roll themed establishment. The Rock is evidently a franchised chain out of Tacoma, WA and even though there is another location in Denver it is so unique it feels like a one of a kind spot. Thought the pizza was great! Got the 9" Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy $11.99 and my wife, the celiac, got the 9" Stairway to Heaven with gluten free crust $10.79, add a $3 up charge for gluten free crust. Both gourmet pies were outstanding and I even liked the gluten free crust. They serve lots of fun creative adult beverages and make their own micro brews at $4.50 for a pint. Check out the complete menu at therockwfp.com . The Rock is righteously done & is going to do very well in Highlands Ranch! Last Saturday evening there was a one hour and 20 minute wait for a table in the restaurant. Luckily, we found an open table in the bar after about 20 minutes. They also have a nice patio area. Because of the newness and crowd, as you can imagine, service was a little slow.

Very interesting place to say the least! It's by the office and good for a cocktail after work which is a bonus. I like the atmosphere and decor; the waitstaff I think needs a little bit more training, as ours took quite some time to deliver drinks, but food didn't take too long which was a bonus. Our waitress would disappear for long periods of time but was nice enough. I did have the "Stairway to Heaven" pizza which was a shite pizza with arugula, parmesan, olive oil and tomato; which I have to say was pretty bland. But becasue I was starving it did taste good. I'd try something different on the menu the next time we go. It does feel quite out of place for Highlands Ranch but it has a cool vibe and nice outdoor area.

Stopped in on a Wednesday. Everyone working there seemed depressed. Perhaps because there were only 8 customers. No specials for the MLB wild card game and no specials for the Avs first game. The decor is really creative and cool inside and out but the place is boring. 2 stars is for the decor. 1 star is out of sympathy for the staff. This place needs a new marketing director. PS. Putting old and/or boring guys behind a bar serving drinks.......nevermind, I'm not getting paid to give advice.

I was craving some pizza and thought this place would cure that urge, however, it left me disappointed. I thought the pizza was a bit bland, and I couldn't really taste any seasoning in the sauce. It seemed overpriced for the mediocre pizza we received. The drinks were pretty good, though, and they have some odd ones which is interesting to me. well, I'm still on a search for good wood stove pizza

Very busy on Friday nights, we waiting about 20 minutes. The vibe was cool. They give the kids playdough (pizza dough) and they love it. The kids menu has fries shaped like smiley faces. We ordered the Crazy Train and they forgot our peppers but the waitress brought some on the side. The manager also stopped by to see if we were ok with it. The pizza was pretty good, I like mine a bit more crispy. They have their own beer.

Went here for beers, cannot attest to the pizza. Alas, the guy I was with said he had a calzone there and it was good. I will update my review after eating. But a good selection of beer and a good atmosphere.

We decided to try The Rock after reading a story about it in the local paper. The decor reminded me of being in a theme restaurant someplace in Vegas. We grabbed a spot in the bar since there was about an hour wait for dinner. We tried the sampler of beer, and really weren't impressed with any of the six samples. We ordered Bang a Gong pizza since supposedly the restaurant is known for their pie. When the waitress brought the pizza the crust was so tough she couldn't cut through it, and my husband had to help her get through it to serve us a piece. The pizza itself, besides the tough crust, was utterly flavorless. Raw onions and green peppers were the only discernible taste coming through. The place was incredibly busy so they've definitely created a buzz. But we were completely stumped as to what all the hype is about. Neither of us see any reason to put up with the goth decor and crowds for such mediocre fare.

This chain restaurant looks like a Disney theme park. I get the "rock" and roll theme, but the crumbling rocks are confusing, Mayan? Rome? Greece? Atlantis? I don't recall buildings crumbling in the 80's. The loud music sound track is 80's Rock n Roll so items on the menu have music inspired item names, kitch, yet somewhat endearing. The menu is a usual line up of apps, salads, pizza and a few burgers. Pizzas are the focus. There are nice combinations of ingredients available with red, white or no sauce. We didn't like the crust of our pizza. We enjoy thin, thick or pan crust each on its own merits, but this was midway between thick and thin crust, slightly soggy and a bit undercooked. They have their own microbrews which were actually better than the pizza on this night. The Ceaser salad was served with lemons which is a plus as a squirt of lemon always elevates this salad to an entirely new level. We arrived at 8:45 on a weeknight and were thrilled they were still seating (it is the burbs afterall) ! They appear to be working out the new opening kinks. Tons of tables open, yet much conversation regarding where to seat us. Told one gentleman would be our waiter yet another woman was. Not a problem though for the handful of tables that were seated it made no sense that she didn't bring us silverware (another waiter did cheerfully when we asked), she forgot our to-go box for over 20 minutes (said we should have flagged her which we would have if there had been any sight of her) and took over 20 minutes to pick up our check once she dropped it off. Note that the happy hour they advertise is only available in the bar unless you join their frequent visitor program (free) which will entitle you to that benefit in the regular dining room. It is early yet so I will give them a break on service issues. Soggy pizza crust at a mainly pizza restaurant is more concerning. That said, it does have a peppy atmosphere which is a much needed addition in this area and I appreciate them being open after 9 on a week night. They were out of membership cards for the sign ups for their frequent diner program, but the friendly manager was called by our waitress and he graciously agreed to honor the dining room happy hour while they waited for more cards to arrive Jury is still out, I'll give them a chance to settle in then re-evaluate. Either way it will be a nice option if you need dinner after your movie at the AMC 24.

Atmosphere was awesome. Extremely busy which is good, but the bathrooms are extremely small, and our food took forever to get out. But the pizza was very good, and the rock chips were a meal in itself!!

I've eaten at "The Rock" twice now and I cannot wait to go back. The first visit, my wife and I didn't realize they specialized in pizza until we parked. Neither of us were in the mood for pizza, but were pleased to find several other options on the menu. My wife had good things to say about her BLT and I ordered the Chicken Basket expecting some average chicken tenders and fries. Turns out this was like a gift from the deep-fried gods! Instead of tenders, the chicken is thin sliced breast meat with a beer batter. It's awesome! It's also a ton of food. 4 large pieces of chicken in a basket of fries was almost more than I could eat (and that's saying a lot.) The ranch and honey mustard dipping sauces are above average as well. I'm constantly looking for an excuse to make the drive from Parker for some more chicken. Someday I might even try the pizza. I think the other reviewers have covered the décor, but needless to say it is very well done.

Deeply disappointed...after being invited as a vip to the highlands ranch location we arrived and the public was welcome as well, which was fine with me. Waited weeks for parker location to open. Was greeted outside by en employee and asked if they were playing the broncos game and was told yes they were but i could not come in as rhey were not open to the public. It is just some srupid marketing company out of state tjat sends the invitations to "vips". There was plenty of room and i was turned away and told basically i wasnt welcome. Bad bad decision to turn away the public in a small area on ur first day...especially when they have waited and driven all the way there. GO TO DAD AND DUDE'S BREWERIA INSTEAD...BETTER PIZZA AND THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I cannot stay away from this place, and it is for two menu items only. When I have tried to stray from these items, I have always been disappointed. And I am sorry to say the pizza isn't good at all. However, the brown sugar mozz bread is to die for (get the strawberry sauce on the side). I never would have thought to put brown sugar on cheesy garlic bread, but it's fantastic. And the chicken wings are my favorite anywhere! The BBQ ones are deelish (great sauce), but I usually get the Hot wings. Tangy, not too hot, and no bleu cheese for me. I always get their homemade ranch dressing, and lots of it. It is outstanding!! I could eat these things at least once a week if my waistline would let me. Which it won't. :) Please also note that I rarely eat meat at all, but when I do, it's because I crave these wings! Also, the service here is great. Always friendly.

Immediately upon walking into this place, you can't help but be impressed by the decor. It's like a Hard Rock Cafe with a dark side (and right up my alley). My server was super nice and attentive and the food came out fast. The specialty drink names are plucked from rock songs, like "Lovely Rita", "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "Dark Star." Now about the food: It seems their specialty is wood fired pizza but I ordered the "Burger Man" burger for lunch. It was flavorful, being topped with chipotle mayo, cheese and bacon, but the meat patty itself was lacking. It was obviously a pre-formed, frozen patty. Not impressed! I'm really hoping the rest of the menu is better. I could see this being a fun place to go on Friday/Saturday night and my server confirmed that they are indeed very busy on those nights. I did notice they close at midnight, however. It would be great if they did some live rock music, but I don't think they have bands :( I could easily give this place 4 or 5 stars if the rest of the menu is good (or they improve the food).
